Every frame ships with simple step-by-step instructions along with our toll-free number, should you have any questions during the framing process.

There is no measuring required for our officially licensed frames—we already know the specific frame size you need based on your military certificate or honorable discharge document. We've built an extensive database, containing the exact dimensions of government-issued documents by each U.S. Military force, to ensure a perfect fit.

To create your own certificate frame, simply provide two important measurements: your actual document size (the overall physical size of your document) and the printed area size. The ‘printed area size' is where the printed text or imagery begins and ends—from the top of the highest lettering to the bottom of the lowest detail (such as a seal or signature), and from the farthest left to the farthest right text or image. Supplying these details will ensure a perfect fit for your document.

Yes, each frame is designed with a removable back and is shipped with archival-quality mounting materials and clear how-to instructions for inserting your document.

Most of our frames ship with the Level-Lock® Hanging System, which has everything you need to hang your frame level and secure. Our flag cases and medal holders are designed for easy, secure mounting or tabletop display.

FedEx Ground is our standard shipping method. Each item is fully insured and shipped in militaryframes.com's FedEx-approved box, which is proudly constructed from 100% curbside recyclable materials. Should damage during transit occur, rest assured that we will promptly replace the damaged product and handle the claims process on orders shipped from our facility.

If we are shipping to an APO address we use the United States Postal Service 'Priority Mail' for delivery.

Each one of our frames is custom-built with military-grade precision and care. As such, our standard production time is approximately 5-9 business days plus FedEx Ground shipping from our facility. Returns are accepted within 120 days of receipt. You may choose to receive a replacement product or a full refund of the purchase price (excluding shipping and handling) issued to your original form of payment (credit card, PayPal, etc.). Best of all? Unlike other framing manufacturers, there are never any restocking fees.

To ensure a smooth return process, please contact our Customer Service team first for a Returned Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number, which must be included on the shipping label. All returned items must be in new, undamaged condition and sent back in the original packaging. We strongly recommend insuring your return shipment to protect against any damage or loss in transit.

In the unlikely event that your product was damaged in transit, all shipments are fully insured and will be replaced quickly. Please inspect your order as soon it arrives, as we have 60 days from delivery to file a claim with FedEx and/or UPS. We fast-track replacements and will custom-build and ship your order within five business days.

Engraved name plates add a personal, meaningful touch to many of our military frames and gifts. If we've made an error in the engraving process, we will correct it promptly. Or, if your item arrives damaged or with a defect, we'll gladly replace it and make things right. Unless there is a product defect or engraving error on our part, please note that gift items with personalized name plates are not returnable and non-refundable.

Yes, if you purchased your frame from militaryframes.com, we can easily look up your original order and confirm the exact glass type and dimensions you need. Once we have the necessary details, we'll custom-cut your replacement glass and ship it within a few business days.

We collect sales tax in the states that require it, based on where your order is delivered, so a gift shipped to another state is taxed at that state's rate. Depending on the state, sales tax may also apply to shipping and handling.

Our mouldings are real wood. Most are solid hardwood, some are made from recycled wood, and each moulding's description says which. We offer classic, traditional and modern profiles in a range of widths and finishes, from basic to high-end.

Our frames include clear standard glass, which blocks 45% of UV light, and the largest frames use plexiglass instead. The upgrade, Conservation UV & Reflection Control glass, blocks 99% of UV light and has an etched, matte-like finish that reduces glare, so yes, it looks different from standard clear glass. It's offered for almost all frame sizes.

Large frames use professional-grade plexiglass so they don't break in transit. This applies to single-document frames over 14 x 22 inches and double-document frames over 11 x 14 inches. Our plexiglass protects your document as well as standard clear glass, and upgraded plexiglass options are available.

Yes. Every frame is built by hand to your specifications at our facility in Monroe, Connecticut. We design, cut, join, emboss and pack every frame on our own production floor.

No. The frame doesn't include your certificate or document; that comes from your branch or unit. Our frames have easy-open backs so you can insert it yourself, and complete instructions ship with every frame.

We can't sell mats or medallions on their own, because our licenses cover the complete framed product only. On officially licensed frames, the embossing and insignia follow the artwork our licensing agreements approve, so we can't change the font or insignia shown on the site.
